Unforgettable Peking duck, handmade dumplings, and a moody, elegant dining experience in the heart of Thirroul.
We help food lovers on the South Coast experience unforgettable nights out by serving traditional Chinese cuisine in a fine dining setting that blends prestige and culture.
Our mission is to preserve the art of traditional Chinese cooking while creating unforgettable dining experiences that bring people together through culture, flavour, and connection.
We’re all about good food, good company, and creating a place you’ll want to come back to again and again.
Here in the heart of Thirroul, we serve dishes you remember long after you’ve left. Our Peking duck is dried and carved inhouse, our dumplings are folded by hand each morning, and every recipe is made with fresh, seasonal produce and a lot of care, just like we’d cook for family.
This is our dream come to life, a space where the traditions of Chinese cooking meet a relaxed, moody dining room filled with fresh orchids and the sound of soft jazz. Our menu is almost entirely gluten free, with a few dumpling exceptions, so everyone can enjoy a meal without missing out.
Whether you’re here for a lazy Yum Cha lunch, date night cocktails, a birthday celebration, or one of our cooking classes, we want you to feel at home. Sit back, take your time, and enjoy food that’s made to be shared.

Learn how to make dumplings from scratch. Starting with dough making and different folding techniques to cooking the perfect dumpling.
We will also teach you the secret to great dipping sauces. How to turn your leftover dough into shallot pancakes and how to make the perfect dumpling filler and dipping sauces. Sunday pre-dinner 3:00 - 5:00 pm. Bookings essential. Max 6 persons per class.
Please email all enquiries to classes@duckinheaven.com.au

Join us for a unique lunch experience with traditional Yum Cha. The word Yum Cha translates to "Drink Tea" and it's a great way to spend a long lunch with the whole family.
We will tempt you with a wide range of Dim Sims brought to your table and you keep the dishes you want to try. Some of our selections include classics like prawn Har Gaw, Sir Mai, steamed pork Xiao Long Bao, pork ribs in black bean sauce, Chicken feet, noodles and BBQ duck plate.
Perfect for larger groups so you can sample everything. Yum Cha starts at 12 noon and continues to 3 pm. Bookings essential.

The word “mahjong” means “sparrow” in southern Chinese dialects, referring to the bird-like clacking sound the tiles make during reshuffling.
Playing Mahjong requires a certain level of memory skills, such as tile setting, game rule and calculation. It is no wonder playing the game gives you a sharp memory.
Come meet your neighbours and enjoy a relaxing afternoon with a selection of our Chinese Teas to the tunes of romantic Chinese ballads. Tuesdays 3-5 pm. All classes run for 6 consecutive weeks.
$90 per person for all 6 weeks
